International Tapiola Choir SSA Choral Composition Competition 2024

The international tapiola choir ssa composition competition 2024 received 173 new pieces. it is a record amount of new choral pieces in our competition history! we are delighted to have received such an interest in our competition.
The jury chose 10 pieces to the final stage of the competition. The winning pieces will be published and awarded in the Gala Concert on the 9th of June 2024 during Tapiola Choir’s International Summer Summit Festival in Helsinki. The Gala Concert will be live-streamed on the Choir’s Youtube Channel.

Tapiola Choir announces an international SSA Choral Composition Competition 2024. The competition is open for all applicants internationally and has no age limit.
The aim of the competition is to find new and interesting compositions especially for young singers (SSA + divisions). The results of the competition will be announced in June 2024 at the Tapiola Choir Summer Summit Festival in Espoo.
The category of the competition is SSA + divisions, a cappella. The piece must be performable for young singers. The composition must be previously unperformed as well as unpublished and its duration must be between 2 and 4 minutes. For award-winning works, a publication contract is available at the choralworks.fi distribution service for pdf choral sheet music.
The jury consists of four members: Choral director and artistic director of Tapiola Choir Pasi Hyökki, choral director Kaija Viitasalo (KYN Female Choir), choral director Anna Sandström (Candomini Children’s Choir and Galante Youth Choir) and composer Juuso Vanonen.
A total of €3,000 will be awarded at the discretion of the jury. The jury also reserves the right to not to distribute prizes.
Entry for the competition closes on the 6th of January 2024 at 23:59 pm (UTC +2). All the applications must fulfill the requirements of the rules of the competition. Late submissions will not be taken into consideration.

Tapiolan kuoron kansainvälinen SSA -kuorosävellyskilpailu 2024
Tapiolan kuoron kannatusyhdistys ry julkistaa kansainvälisen SSA -kuorosävellyskilpailun kaikille säveltämisestä kiinnostuneille. Kilpailu on avoinna kaikenikäisille hakijoille.
Kilpailun tavoitteena on löytää uusia ja mielenkiintoisia a cappella sävellyksiä nuorista laulajista koostuville kokoonpanoille (SSA + jaot).
Kilpailun tulokset julkistetaan kesäkuussa 2024 Tapiolan kuoron kansainvälisellä Summer Summit -festivaalilla Espoossa. Tuomariston jäseninä toimivat kuoronjohtaja ja Tapiolan kuoron taiteellinen johtaja Pasi Hyökki, kuoronjohtaja Kaija Viitasalo (KYN), kuoronjohtaja Anna Sandström (lapsikuorot Candomini ja Galante) sekä säveltäjä Juuso Vanonen.
Kilpailun palkintoina jaetaan yhteensä 3 000 euroa. Tuomaristo pidättää oikeuden olla jakamatta palkintosummaa.
Kilpailu sulkeutuu 6.1.2024 klo 23:59. Kilpailuun osallistuvien hakemusten tulee olla kilpailun sääntöjen mukaisia. Myöhästyneitä hakemuksia ei hyväksytä kilpailuun.
